In May 2022, the SI23 series 7.5kW AC solar pumping system was successfully installed on a farm in South Africa. The project is mainly used to provide irrigation water to the farm.
The problem of energy and water sources is one of the most important issues many countries are faced with. Around more than 30% agricultural pumps are not available to connect with grid electricity due to poor power facilities. And 50% farms cannot get well irrigated because of poor water conservancy infrastructure. Nowadays the cost of diesel is rapidly increasing，so the cost of maintenance on diesel generator pump system is very high. It is urgent and important to find a sustainable way for agricultural irrigation.
Solar powered water pump technology is a very good solution to agricultural irrigation. The system consists of 12kW solar array，7.5kW pump inverter and 7.5kw pump and provides 20m³/h water for irrigation.
