In recent years, Sudan's economic growth has been driven mainly by the agricultural sector, and local government authorities have placed a high priority on investment in agricultural infrastructure development.
The problem of energy and water sources is one of the most important issues many countries are faced with. Around more than 30% agricultural pumps are not available to connect with grid electricity due to poor power facilities. And 50% farms cannot get well irrigated because of poor water conservancy infrastructure. Nowadays the cost of diesel is rapidly increasing，so the cost of maintenance on diesel generator pump system is very high. It is urgent and important to find a sustainable way for agricultural irrigation.
Solar powered water pump technology is a very good solution to agricultural irrigation. The system consists of 9.9kW solar array，7.5kW pump inverter and 7.5kw pump and provides 20m³/h water for irrigation.

The smallholder only needs to pay a small proportion of the down payment to the dealer and pay the installment every month as agreed. After one year, he can fully own the solar water pump system. Previously, due to the lack of irrigation system, the irrigation of the farm mainly depended on precipitation. When the dry season comes, crops often die due to lack of water when they are about to mature. With this solar water pump system, customers no longer have to worry about the irrigation of fields.
